I started this sock as part of the SSK 2017 KAL. Bought an Ann Budd toe-up sock pattern.

I like a wider, blunter toe. So I started with 36 sts cast on. Just a personal preference.

Unfortunately, I can’t attend SSK17. So I decided I needed something simple and brainless. So I went to one of my fav patterns for the heel, Wendy Johnson’s toe-ups with a gusset.

I want a bit of detailing on the side. Carin from Round the Twist was talking about socks called Dublin Bay. There is a super simple repeat at the sides. Figured that would look good but not loose any of the lovely effects of the sock blank.

Stitch Pattern -
Row 1: k2tog, yo 4 times, k1
Row 2 & 4: K
Row 3: k1, k2tog, yo 4 times

I shouldn’t have started the cuff as early as I did. It is way long. But I hate ripping back. So it is as it is. grin

Not a challenging knit. But life has been crazy in 2017. So it took ages to finish these.

I like them. But I don’t love them. I think the bronze color of the blank looks more brown knit up which isn’t a fav. But new socks are always good.

Having moved to a house of my own, I suspect I will desperately need woolly socks as I am paying the heating bill!! In the past two apartments, the heat was controlled by the landlord. The last one was always super toasty! laugh And I have been warned there is a LOT of snow in our new hometown…
