I absolutely did not understand what the directions meant when it came to placing the lights. I ended up cutting them out and weaving a new string in afterward. What it’s saying when listing the odd numbers (1,3,5,etc) is that you are placing EVERY OTHER light from the string

So in the below example, place light 1, knit through to the next light placement spot, place light 3, etc.

[battery pack] ---- 1 ---- 2 ---- 3 ---- 4 ---- 5 ---- etc

Because they’re gonna zig-zag up and down when you place the second round of lights.
