Unisex mittens for Becky’s kids.

My gauge was larger than the pattern’s so the circumference is 5.75” instead of 5.5”.

The white yarn was a little thicker than the other yarn so the rib is 1.75” long instead of 1.5” long.

I knit the hand 5.25” long instead of 4.5” long. I started the top shaping when the hand length measured 4.5” (16 rnds of brown). The total mitten length is 7” instead of 6”.

I knit the thumb in the round. I put the 10 thumb sts on waste yarn per the pattern and picked up a st from the hand for 11 thumb sts. I decreased to 10 sts on the first round of the thumb.

I used duplicate stitch instead of intarsia for the antlers.

Row 3 of the left thumb gusset should say “k2, work chart over 9 sts, k5” after increasing for the thumb gusset.

I didn’t stuff the nose with fiberfill because it didn’t really need it.

I think there is a typo in the ear instructions. I worked 3 rows even after increasing instead of 4 rows. I didn’t bother to chain stitch around the ears.

I used 6 strands of embroidery floss to attach the button eyes.

I used four 3/8” buttons I took from my mom’s stash.
