I knit the hand circumference and thumb length per size Medium and the rib length and hand length per size Small.

My stitch gauge was larger than the pattern’s so I followed the instructions for size Small bulky weight for a finished hand circumference of 7” per size Medium.

I used the German Twisted Cast On.

I worked the rib for 3” instead of 4” because I was worried about running out of yarn since I was using leftover yarn from another project.

I knit the hand 7.5” long per size Small instead of 8” long per size Medium. I knit 3.75” even after the thumb gusset instead of 4”.

I picked up 2 extra sts for the thumb to prevent holes and decreased to 12 sts on the next rnd. I worked 12 rnds (2” long) after the pick up rnd before the thumb decreases.

Since my stitch gauge was larger than the pattern’s the thumb circumference is 3” instead of 2.5”. I originally decreased to 10 sts for the thumb for a 2.5” circumference but it was too small.
