(Pink cushion--get it? Dorky, but I couldn’t resist. And I love the name Naalepuder. It sounds like nail-put-er, where you’d put your nails or pins.)

These are fun and addictive! So far I’ve crocheted 6 of them, but only 4 are assembled.

The instructions, translated to English from Danish, are very basic and leave out critical information that someone like me needs. I didn’t find any instructions on how to secure the strands of yarn at the beginning that bind the pin cushion into sections and make the sections puffy (other than to use a knot that would then need to be covered up so it didn’t show) — nor how to end them.

I found two vintage buttons in red, one larger than the other, to complement my Naalepuder, but I had a lot of difficulty sewing them on. Is there a good technique for this step? I like mine really tight.
I swear my fingers are bleeding from trying to sew on just two buttons (one on top and one on the bottom of the cushy) and I have at least four more to do! I think next time I’m just going to sew some thread through the button holes and glue the buggars (buttons, I mean! ;o) on. The last pieces of yarn are still attached to the back of the pin cushion because I may attempt to try to sew the larger button on tighter! (Yeah, dream on …)
