A beautiful shawl, but I feel the pattern is very poorly written (translated from a chart, actually, with some minor changes), and I would not have paid for it had I known how confusing it was going to be. The pattern states it’s advanced, but in actuality all the stitches are simple, basic crochet, it just takes someone familiar with crochet to decipher the pattern. The written pattern, chart and photos often do not correspond with one another. After several hours I believe I have a workable pattern and hopefully the project will go more smoothly than the deciphering.

NOTES ON THE YARN:
It’s not really 9wpi (or at least not consistently), my measurements averaged an 11wpi, which is why I chose it for this project. OTOH, it is a bit “fuzzy”, providing a nice, soft “halo”… which likes to grab on to the fuzzy on the other areas of yarn and not let go like little preacher lice seeds. :-/ Try not to have to “un-crochet” this stuff or let it tangle.

It splices well using a Russian join, but avoid untwisting it as it basically disintegrates.
