Notes

Beginning weaving in ends phase- 12/17/10.

I picked this pattern for my sister-in-law who is a scarf fanatic and also a Scandinavian lover. The chunky yarn is easy to work with and creates a beautiful project. Also, using only two colors at a time for the fair isle patterns minimizes yarn tangling distress.

If I were to do this pattern again I would look for the light gray yarn as specified. The taupe is pretty, but I really fell in love with the gray. Unfortunately, it was not available at the time I needed it. Also, I would lengthen the scarf a bit so that it can wrap around more- probably by increasing the number of repeats in the stripe section.

The coordinating hat and mittens show in the pattern are just as lovely. Fleece lining helps to decrease the itchiness of the wool.

12/20/10- It’s done! See new pictures. The ends have been woven, the fringe has been added, and a fleece liner has been sewn in to minimize itchiness. Yay! Now to finish my alpaca wristers and a crochet baby gift…
