I wanted fully reversible pieces. Instead of folded hems, I wove 6 or 8 picks of rep weave. Thin weft was sewing thread and thick weft was three ends of GYC 10/2 unmercerized cotton. I stitched close to the margin.

I started out using 20/2 cotton for tabby weft, then switched to 16/1 linen. Cotton drew in a lot and required a temple. Linen doesn’t draw in, and the towels with linen tabby were easier to weave.
