Knit heel flap until 12 sts in each slipped stitch column, then heel turn calculator for a 48 stitch french heel using this calculator
Picked up 12+ 2 add’l stitches along side of heel flap, according to video tutorial in the Crunkled sock pattern. Setup round before beginning gusset decreases (twisting all picked up stitches, apart from the two extra on each
side)
Gusset decreases every other row until back to 48 sts
Knit foot even for 36 rounds (when I pick up 13 on either side of a heel flap, I knit a foot that is 38 rounds, but since I picked up 14 stitches on each side of the heel flap, I knit two fewer rounds of the foot to compensate.
Toe decreases per The Crazy Sock Lady’s DK vanilla socks (omitting the very last round of decreases —so stopping when I have 16 stitches total and then kitchener stitch)
