Pattern Clarification

The pattern can definitely feel a bit confusing at first, but once you get going, it becomes second nature—you won’t need to refer to it again until it’s time to decrease.

Each RS row is made up of four parts: the beginning stitches, the repeated middle section (shown in brackets) plus any extra ‘remainder’ stitches, the increase/decrease stitch, and the end stitches.

The middle section follows a four-stitch repeat. If the number of stitches in that section isn’t evenly divisible by four, you’ll knit the first -- insert remainder here-- stitches from within the bracketed section, at the end, before working the increase or decrease.
