My cousin Erinn and her husband Shane are mega Star Wars fans. Her son Oscar was a Jedi knight for his very first baby Halloween and made it to the popular page in some baby costume contest she entered him in on the Internet. His facial expression in the picture helped with the charm. Young Oscar now has the opening monologue to the movie memorized and will recite it on cue when given a visual of a starry night. Now that she is expecting baby Olivia, and I have learned to knit in the 3 years since Oscar’s birth, I offered to make a handknit for this little girl. Erinn requested nothing pink. I actually remember her saying “Generally I have noticed my children’s clothes are mostly black and gray. Will it go with a toddler-sized Ramones t-shirt?” The search for the humble, hip handknit commenced. In hopes this will be cool enough…
