Notes

Jackie is a wonderful, enthusiastic teacher who fondly refers to all her students as “the friends”. We taught a week long fashion camp for girls grades 3-5 last summer. I learned so much from Jackie and loved working with her. While we were teaching finger knitting to the friends, we found some scrap yarn hidden in the yarn donation bin. She loved the grays (back to my obsession with the Cleveland sky and cloud dimensions reflected in fiber arts), but doesn’t knit (yet). I knew this pattern would be perfect for the waffling weight of the yarn. I actually liked it better than the first wasabi cowl I made - this one knit a bit looser, which just added to the squishy noodley-ness when it is on.

And an honorable mention to that deep, ominous button found at River Colors. When the light hits just right, it has a blue glint to it. These special buttons are made based on and with respect to the craftsmanship of Vietnamese artisans.
