Notes

My daughter is going to Norway and I need to make something to send her off with Mom Magic, so she chose this hat. The color of the Wool Ease is just what she had in mind, and I think the Peter Rabbit lining will be warm enough to make up for the acrylic content of the outer shell. Went up a few needle sizes to get gauge, looks to be a fast knit.

My modification in case future me makes this again, since the flap came over a little too close to Jen’s face and we wanted it to angle back faster in the front, toward her ear. She also wanted a slightly shorter ear flap:
First flap row decrease last three sts as written
Row 2: purl
Row 3: knit
Row 4: purl
Row 5: knit to last three and decrease as written
Continue to 14 sts then begin regular decreases immediately. Icord on 10.5 needles.

FINISHED: LOVE the hat, and she loves it. It’s so fast, probably a few nights of knitting. It sat around until I picked it up to crochet the edges together, and I fiddled with that a few times until I got the look I wanted.
