Thought this was going to come up small after starting and then checking my gauge so I only knit the ribbing to the specified kids measurement. Realised it was going to be okay once I moved onto the main body of the hat so reverted to adult sizing specifications.

It turned out to be a classic fit on my husband, slight slouch on me.
