I didn’t use exactly this pattern - just the basic shapes from it, but worked toe-up and with a few other changes.
I held two yarns together to get something in the heavy worsted or aran range. For my slippers it was the ITW handspun + green SLK Goat Sock; for Willow’s the same handspun + red SLK Staple Sock.
W’s slippers were frogged and re-knit larger in 2020!
Recipe for mine:

Spiral toe, increased up to 42 stitches

30 rows stockinette

Turn to WS and start knitting flat in garter stitch with a mini i-cord edging (knit every stitch on the right side; slip the first 2 and last 2 stitches wyif on the wrong side)

Continue for 31 rows i.e. 16 ridges on RS, ending with a WS row

A short row bit: (RS) k18, w&t (WS) k16, sl2 (RS) k to end (WS) sl2, k16, w&t (RS) k18 (WS) sl2, k38, sl2 (RS) k14, w&t (WS) k12, sl2 (RS) k to end (WS) sl2, k12, w&t (RS) k14 (WS) sl2, k38, sl2
