This blanket is all handspun, from a mixture of wool/silk blends and pure silk.
The first few rounds are borrowed from the free pattern Linda’s Snowflake Potholder, then I went off piste and improvised the second half. There are several blanket patterns on Ravelry using a “lantern” or “lozenge” shape motif, but none of them were exactly how I wanted so the overall shaping is also my own thing :)
I joined them using the Gone Bush handspun with a row of sc, then a row of slip stitch worked through the sc from the other side, which makes a join that looks almost like a thin i-cord. I only joined the long sides as the short side gaps are small (less than 1” long) and I wanted to emphasise the rippling shapes.
Border is a round of hdc in Gone Bush, then some of my leftover yarn following the same as round 2 in the pattern, and a final round of hdc in Gone Bush. Not all the sides have the same colour sequence in the border as I didn’t have enough leftovers for full rounds so I changed at the corners as needed.
