The hair in the pattern was too time consuming for me. Instead I wound yarn around a length of cardboard, secured it at the top (front and back) with some self adhesive braid and snipped along the bottom edge as shown in pics. I then stitched it to the inside of the hat at the base of the crown. Next I stitched the brim to the hat. Then I stitched the hat to the head to the head along the inner edge of the brim. Hopefully the pics will make sense of this. The scarecrow hair from the jean greenhowe pattern is another option. Just trim to suit character
