Easy holiday and football knitting. The pattern is perhaps the best shawl pattern I’ve ever knitted: lovely, relatively easy, very professionally written, not that sensitive to mistakes, and yields to size modifications, thanks to the addendum. Should also work well with any yarn you have in your stash.

6 July 2014: Counting my stitches after 7 repeats of the main body pattern, I have a few too many. My yarn is running short for the pattern. Decided to do the 7 repeats + rows 1-6 as the pattern instructs. Total amount of side stitches 152 which is 13 sts (= 1 border repeat) less than in the pattern. Moving on to the border now.

9 July 2014: Used the whole day for the 4 Setup rows for the Border. Lateral Braid looks lovely, took a while to go through all the billion stitches though.
Consulted the Addendum. I have 3 sts before the centre stitch, so I’m using that modification pattern row. Great to have such detailed and comprehensive instructions!

1 August 2014: It’s ready, casted off last night! A wonderful project, such a nice pattern with plenty of things to do, but still relatively easy and speedy to knit up. We had an exceptionally warm weather in July, could not even think about knitting, could have finished it earlier. My estimation about my yardage was spot on, only tiny ball left. Will block this sometime next week once I return to my homebase with all my knitting gear.

7 August 2014: A nice, lukewarm bath and gentle blocking with wires. Finished size: gorgeous 210 cm total width and 55 cm height.
