Using size 9 needles, Italian (tubular) CO 26 sts, work 1x1 rib for 14 rounds (2.5”), then work stockinette for another 14 rounds (2.5”), then thumb gusset - 6 sts before (left wristlet) or after (right wristlet) end of 14th stockinette round:

1. place marker, M1R (BFF), k1, M1L (FBB), place marker, k to end of round
2. k around
3. k to marker, sl marker, m1r, k to marker, m1l, sl marker, k to end of round
4. k around
5. as for thumb gusset round 3
6. k to marker, put sts between markers on holder, kfb, k to end of round

Ignoring sts on holder, k 7 more rounds stockinette
k 6 rounds 1x1 rib using size 7 needles

Thumb: work sts on holder in the round, picking up 1-2 sts to join; k 2-3 rounds, then regular BO using larger needle
