Oh boy…this was a huge project to take on, but wow, they did turn out great in the end…with a lot of help.

I spent months half-heartedly working on this since I was so afraid that I couldn’t possibly do it all (because I ideally wanted flowers for the entire wedding party and parents and grandmas), and worried that maybe it wouldn’t look the way I imagined it would (because I had never felted anything before). Thank goodness my dear friend Kasia (aka 6stitches - shown in the far left of photo 4) committed to working on this with me and knitted her poor little arms off.

The knitting was not complete until the day before the wedding, which meant a lot of felting and wiring down to the wire, so to speak. My mom (shown in photo 9) helped tremendously with getting the wires in and sewing them in place. The day of the wedding, my friend Roy (aka skeinasaurusrex - shown in photo 8) helped with assembling all the boutonnieres and corsages.

The flowers were a huge hit at the wedding. People thought it was very creative, very fitting for me, and very sentimental (since they truly can be kept forever). I’m so happy with how they came out!

All the flowers were made with patterns from Pick Up Sticks, except for the mini Calla Lilies, which I adapted myself to be smaller scale. I HIGHLY recommend the patterns. All yarn was Cascade 220. The other artificial greenery was purchased at Michael’s.
