This sweater is for my sister’s new little man. I didn’t start with a drawing or a plan, I just cast-on an approximate number based on what I thought the gauge might be, starting at the neckline. I worked in a color pattern for the yoke, increasing evenly spaced, working with what I know about EZ’s percentage system and eye-balling the size of it. After the yoke, I switched to just the alpaca, which is knit off gauge for a light, blousy effect in the body and in the slightly ballooned sleeves. I punctuated the sweater with a two color buttonband, a bit o’ crochet chain, and three bright red buttons.

When I showed this around at the shop, there were requests for a pattern….but it’s not coming. This is a one-off knit doodle. You will all have to wait for ME to have a baby before I make a children’s collection!!!
