Cast on 32 using US 50 circulars. I did not crochet closed the top but instead followed the pattern until I had 9 rounds and began decreasing on every knit round until I had 8-10 stitches left (can’t quite remember). Had to switch to my US 35 double pointed needles because I did not have US 50 DPNs. Drew the yarn through the remaining stitches and closed the top.

I used a 20” round pillow I got off of Amazon. I wrapped it in a single grey twin-sized pillow case (again you can get those cheap on Amazon or just about anywhere).

Easy, cute little accessory for my son’s room.

More information on the yarn: thickness and texture similar to “dreadlocks”. Does separate easily while knitting if you tug on it too much, but otherwise worked very well for this pattern and for the type of use this particular item will get.
