3.0 mm for tubular CO
3.5 mm for ribbing
4.0 mm body
4.5 mm colorwork (only the part with 2 yarns, for the rest part of CC I used 4.0 mm)
Mod: CO 10 sts for underarm.
About the yarn, although I knew that this yarn blooms after washing (this is why I used the largest needle size that producer suggests) it shrinked quite a bit and instead of getting a lofty and airy fabric I was hoping for, I ended up with much more dense fabric. The darker colorway needed to be washed many times, I was quite scared of staining the natural colorway with yellow hues, and I wasn’t exactly subtle while I was washing it, so I created quite stressful environment to this beautiful yarn, and probably felted it a bit, but if you’re going to knit with it, make sure to use larger needles and to have really long floats as this yarn breaks up very easily!
It seems that I managed to create a bias in fabric , it happened for the first time to me, and, what is quite funny, while parts worked in stst are biased in one way, the twisted stitch ribbing is biased in opposite direction. Not sure what I did wrong, but I believe it may be more reasonable to knit with this yarn flat (my flat swatch was perfect!)
The design is AMAZING! it’s exactly what I was aiming for, interesting to knit and effortless to wear. Perfect first colorwork project, or a tv-project! I am so in love with this sweater design that I already CO for the second one.
