Notes

I wrote a small blog post about this blanket here: http://atbly6.blogspot.com/2014/05/presenting-my-mario-af...

This blanket is inspired by a photo that I saw on pinterest (http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/b2/08/47/b208...). The link only led to an image so I simply counted the coloured squares and selected my own colours. I chose to use a basic crochet filet starburst square pattern for my squares.

I found the original poster for the blanket i found on Pinterest!! You can check out her pics here: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/SarahLovesArt/granny-squa...

I’ll need to make 192 4” squares in the following colours to make the Mario image:

Dark Blue 32 of 32
Light Blue 22 of 22
Red 38 of 38
Yellow 2 of 2
Beige 41 of 41
Black 16 of 16
Brown 14 of 14
Green 12 of 12
White 15 of 15

Update 2014-05-25:
It’s finally done!! This is definitely the wrong project for someone who dislikes sewing in ends lol I am super happy with results :) I hope my nephew likes it too!

I hope to make a princess peach one but will learn from this experience and give my self plenty of time so that I can take breaks when it gets tedious.

I forgot to measure the dimensions and it’s already wrapped. Once it gets opened, I’ll try to remember to measure it quickly.

Update 2014-05-12:
192/192 squares done and all squares are joined across in rows. Row seams: grass and one shoe are joined. About 1/15 seams.

2014-05-01:
I have 147 squares done! I need a change of pace so I’ve starting joining rows. I’ll still crochet squares on my commute when I can. Otherwise, I’ll just crochet them once I get to a row that needs them. Getting excited to see the finished product!
