Splitting both yarns down to get a fingerling weight yarn - IMO, this is one of the reasons I like cheap acrylic yarn - it often goes from meh to fluffy and pretty awesome if it gets split.

Makes knitting with it a fair bit slower, though.

The Encore is three-ply, which I found out when I started to split it, and the 1ply part I split out would break. Every. Few. Yards. I finally gave up and didn’t use that.

Interchangeables are awesome for this pattern - instead of moving stitches to waste yarn and back again, I just moved my needles to another cable :D

Aug 20: Softened up greatly after just one trip through the washer and dryer, wow. Still need to block/kill it, which involves acquiring an iron…

Aug 29: Iron acquired and blocked. I just flat-out ironed this, trapping bits under the iron and pulling in order to really open up the YOs.
