Whee! This was fun! It took me less than 4 hours (with a kitty in my lap the whole time) and was a little more challenging than Promenade by the same designer, if only because this one went from the center out (vs. outside to center).

The first 5 rounds were a little sketchy for me since I’m not overly experienced with DPNs (and lace even less so) and I always seem to have trouble with the first few rounds of anything in the round, but I think it turned out nicely (though perhaps with a little wonkiness at the very center due to my issues - the next time will be better!). I especially liked that there were a fair number of knit rounds in there - it made the whole process a little more comfortable since I felt like it kind of “set” the previous rows. I used Jeny's surprisingly stretchy bind off which, so far, seems to be great but we’ll see how blocking goes.

The finished product is adorably tiny. I knew it was going to be small since I went with thread (vs light fingering) but I wanted it to match the other knit lace I made, which I’m using under some votive candles, and a smaller size will work out just fine.

I still don’t really get how all the yarn overs and different decreases combine to make the waves and shapes of lace, but I think I’m starting to be more comfortable with the process. Maybe one day I’ll truly get it!
