OMG, I’m only 15 rounds in to this doily AND IT IS SO AWESOME! It’s just difficult enough to be a fun and keep my attention. I haven’t gotten to the nupps yet (which I think might be an actual challenge) but so far I ADORE THIS!
I’ve probably picked entirely the wrong yarn to work this in as it is fuzzy and likes to untwist. But I had to had to had to have the color variation and this was the only yarn that would work so aesthetics over ease.

Oh no! I was on round 20 when I messed up and couldn’t properly back up (and, naturally, had no lifeline). So now I have to start over! Noooooo!!!
…
Okay, today is not a good lace day. Apparently my head just isn’t in the game and this is something that I really have to pay attention to. After a few issues I finally got back up to where I was before and got passed it - yay! And I’m making liberal use of lifelines now!

I like the crochet method of the nupps a lot better. The first round of nupps I did the full knitting way and had trouble 1) working the stitches on the next round (didn’t work the nupps loosely enough) and 2) and making them look good (I had to finagle with them so much that the fuzzy nature of this yarn reacted poorly to all the handling). The crocheted way though gives these cute little button-like nupps! Adorable! Though mine seem to want to poke out on the back.

And it’s off the needles! I tried to overthink the crochet bind off (I used a D hook), particularly the ‘knit the two first stitches’ thing… once I figured out it was knitting them to make them the end of the round, not the beginning, it went super-quick. Now blocking!
By the way, I LOVE THIS DOILY! So freakin’ fun!
