Notes

My son has asked for a Kyogre mitten as a twin to his Poliwhirl mitt. This creature seems to be based on an orca, which is good because I’ve knitted orca mittens before. Although my son would like the FO to be more like a puppet, I’m sticking to the traditional mitten shape because, well, it’s a mitten, for use when it gets cold outside. If it happens to look like a Pokemon, that’s just a bonus.

September 2: Finished the mitten. Will post pictures tonight. I knitted the jaw and head separately, back and forth in two sections, then crocheted them together with red yarn. I crocheted the eyes, duplicate-stitched the white eye patches, and embroidered the design on the fins. I’m pretty pleased with the FO, but glad that I don’t have to make another one!
