Now that I’ve finished the Wobbuffet mittens, the other child wants Pokemon mittens too, of course. Poliwhirl is not his favourite character, but I insisted that he choose a Pokemon that’s round, so that it already kind of looks like mittens. What I like about this character is that the stomach circle will be easy to crochet. Oh, and also that it’s blue, so I can use up the extra skein I bought for the Wobbuffet mitts.

Notes to myself:

• Cast on 42 sts.
• 10 rounds k2-p2 ribbing, then 12 rounds, then increase for thumb.
• Increase every second round, 4 times.
• Increase every third round, until 20 thumb sts total.
• Knit remaining 38 sts for 24 rounds.
• Knit bumps for eyes.

September 1: He’s decided that he wants Kyogre as the twin mitten, so I’m closing this project and opening a new one for the second mitt.
