I bought this yarn to make Reed from Rowan 74. I really do love that pattern, but there’s a lot of shaping & finishing and I want something I can knit up & wear ASAP. So I’m making Lute with Reed striping: body in the wide black and green stripes, sleeves in the narrow black and cream stripes.

Mods & Thoughts:

• No body increases for the armhole extensions, just cast on the additional amount at the start.

• Yikes, that neckband was tight. Ripped it out and tried a couple of different options until I settled on 4 rows of garter stitch.

• In hindsight, I should have shortened the sleeves a little bit. Something I never say, as I have long arms.
