I swatched a bunch of different yarns for this. Gift for my sister, who’s wool-sensitive. In the end, I decided to be safe and go with cotton.

Mods & Thoughts:

• Ribbing: Used a smaller needle. Lengthened to 3 inches. Cast on about 1/5 more stitches, worked as K3 P2, then decreased across the last WS row as P3 K2tog. It’s a style Kim Hargreaves uses a lot and I like the way it looks. Plus you end up with the K3 P1 the pattern calls for, so the rib flows into the body pattern correctly.
• Did the neckband as an inch of rolled stockinette. Will change it if my sister says she’d prefer something else.
