The yarn is a gift from my daughter. She was visiting the island of Lewis and Harris and bought this handspun yarn from a woman on a road who was selling it by kilos. It is thick, rustic, and warm. The color is deep heathery brown with yellow and blue specs.
I spent quite a lot of time trying several patterns in this yarn without much success. Finally, I decided to go with my instincts and make something warm and rustic from it. My jacket was loosely based on a child pattern from an old Phildar magazine. I added pockets and changed many little details.
Surprisingly enough I got a very useful and well fitting garment.
