Notes

Photo on teapot courtesy of Laurie.

Laurie is a great friend, but I really hated this project. I must admit, though, it turned out nice.

I didn’t find the instructions about the “flowers” very clear, and each of the long strips took me a couple hours to knit or crochet. That’s a huge time investment because it calls for 4 long and 4 slightly shorter lengths for the flowers. (I knitted only the 4 long ones.)
I crocheted the rectangular strip for the top and sewed the loops to it, but what to do next? I sewed the strip in a circle around the top opening of the tea cosy. It was not easy nor pretty.

The Ella Rae worsted was knitted as an i-cord; it’s really too heavy. I dyed the yellow to slight orange.
The luxury wool-silk sport, knitted ~6 rows of ~ 350 stitches, was dyed to a deep red.
The Webs Mill Ends fingering were knitted 6-7 rows of ~ 350 stitches, then dyed to blue and slightly greenish.
The fingering looked best. I had considered crocheting three strips on both sides of the chain stitch. I might still do it since I have another cosy.

One ball of Pattons came just short of making two cozies. (Short for trim, but can improvise easily enough.) While I adore linnied’s flowery teasy, mine didn’t turn out quite as pretty.
But Laurie was very happy with it. (Probably as much from relief after the 9 month(!) wait.)

For Laurie’s 5 cup teapot.
