Much prettier IRL than photos indicate. Actual colors are more of an antique cream and a fleshy orangish/pinkish/tan that defies description except that maybe it looks a bit like the old pencil top erasers, but paler. Because of the pale colors and the silk, it looks very old. :)
I came across three or four knots in the yarns and just spit-spliced the ends without taking out the knots and used as was; it kind of added to the rustic charm, IMO.

In all but the bottom two bands, the rows at the color change both stand up so you get a “sewn” look. On the bottom two contrast rows (because I wanted to knit across and back without cutting the yarn), the ridge consists of two rows of the contrast color, which makes them look much more intense than the rows above. I really don’t care for the difference, but it doesn’t look bad with the unmixed bottom edging.

I’d started using the “lacy” edging, but it looked weak with the two colors used, so I did a four or five row garter, then cast off using Jeny’s surprisingly stretchy bind off (search on YouTube). It would have looked really fabulous with a more ruffly finish.
