Notes

I’m a chemist, not a biologist - that’s my excuse for these outlandish and probably highly unrealistic colours.

  1. Swine flu (H1N1) - yellow virus, with 75% purple and 25% blue HAMA beads (pre-strung).
  2. Mycobacterium tuberculosis - purple bacillus, with several purl ridges
  3. Penicillium - green fungus, with multicoloured “hairs” and an orange button in the centre. Looks like a demented flower!

Competition info here; I heard about it here.

The green one was shortlisted for the competition and displayed at the Great British Bioscience Festival, 14-16 November 2014.
