Notes

No matter how many beautiful wool blankets and garments we knit for the little ones around us, kids always seem to be most attracted to the super-soft feel of chenille yarn. While this won’t stop us from knitting wool items for tots, sometimes you’ve just got to give them what they’re asking for.

This is a very straightforward project and serves as a great introduction to intarsia, if it’s your first time with that technique! Nothing to be afraid of here, the tutorials for the technique are linked in the pattern.

To keep chenille yarns looking their best, it’s important to knit them at a tight gauge. This is why we’ve chosen to knit this bulky-weight yarn on a 4.5 mm (US 7) needle. Otherwise, “worming” can happen, where strands of stitches work their way out of the fabric.

Kits for this project are available from our website or you can choose your own colours for the project and request a copy of the pattern in your order notes.
