Notes

These beautiful mittens feature a snowflake motif at the top of the fingers and thumb that was designed to emulate the top of a fair isle tam. The patterning at the cuffs also plays on the snowflake theme, and even the simple lice stitch on the body of the mittens looks like falling snow. Mīlēt is Latvian for “to love,” and these mittens would make an excellent gift for someone you care about.

Although the mittens require three colours, you only ever knit with two at a time, making this a true fair isle pattern.

Our sample used one ball each of Drops Flora in White and Drops Nord in Black and Brick Red. This colour combination is our Winter Rose kit. We only made one mitten, but to make a pair you will need less than half a ball each of White and Brick Red and a full ball of Black.

You can shop our Mīlēt kits and see our full selection of Flora and Nord on our website.
