This is a beautiful sweater and our knitter thoroughly enjoyed making it. They did make one tweak to keep the colourwork stripes looking their best:

After the ribbing in the body at the first row of pattern, she did a k2tog. This avoids having a jog in the pattern. Then she increased by 1 stitch after the patterning to get back to the correct stitch count.
