Because this shawl is knit sideways with alternating sections of stockinette and eyelets, it is a great way to use a crazy variegated hand-dyed yarn: the variation in row length and texture helps to break up flashing and pooling. Naturally, it is also lovely for more solid colours.

Our sample used one skein of Fleece Artist Merino Slim in Fig. You could easily substitute 400m/437yds of another fingering weight.
