This is the pullover eponymously simple enough to be an ideal choice for first-time garment knitters, AND it has an inclusive size range, written out in clear instructions. For these reasons and more, we have chosen Simple Sweater for our My First Sweater class. There are so many great yarn options for this sweater, so every student can make their ideal garment.

Our sample used eight balls of Drops Air in Old Pink. We made the worsted-weight version, but our sample gauge came out looser than the pattern suggests. We did the neck ribbing first (rather than at the end), did not include bust shaping, and made a cropped length version.
