When you have a 50 g skein of pure cashmere, you need the perfect little something to use it all up. The Sophie Scarf is the perfect project for a special skein or a remnant of your favourite yarn. The softness and warmth of cashmere is ideal for around the neck.

This beginner-friendly project uses increases and decreases and an i-cord border around simple garter stitch to create a wear-anywhere accessory that you will want to make in every colour.

Our sample used one skein of Nordic Yarn Eco Cashmere Fingering in Purple.

We recommend using a row counter and/or clipping a locking stitch marker on the right side of your work to help you keep track of the rows between increases and decreases.

We made our sample according to the dimensions in the pattern, so we had a bit of yarn left over. If you have a kitchen scale, you can easily make your scarf a bit longer and use up every precious metre of cashmere by weighing your skein and using exactly half before beginning the decrease section.
