Former Bee Erin Trolley wrote this free pattern and it is such a great basic pattern. Appealing to men and women alike, it is a great project for beginners and the ‘emergency gift’ pile (or is that just me?)

We have also suggested that this would be a good pattern if you were making hats for the impoverished and homeless (as we are collecting donations at the moment) however typically a machine-washable yarn is best.
