When we saw the beautiful Noro Haunui Silk, we couldn’t resist its luxurious look and feel. Plus, the story behind it—a special mixed breed of merino sheep from one farm in New Zealand—makes it that much more special. As such, we knew we needed a single-skein project that would take full advantage of Haunui Silk and use every little bit of yarn. A big cozy cowl fit the bill, and here it is!

Named for Whiffin Spit in Sooke, our cowl uses a simple texture and stylish vent to create an accessory that will keep you warm on blustery days. It can be worn numerous ways depending on how you fold it or where you place the vent. The yarn takes centre stage as it uses the classic thick-and-thin texture and colour shifting of many other Noro yarns to emphasize a rich palette of undyed neutrals.
