Notes

Because this yarn is part nylon, it cannot be used as a hot pad/trivet. It could melt. I mean, I haven’t tested it, I just know it shouldn’t be used.

2 strands held together, 8mm hook for all except for the slst round on which I used a 9mm hook.

To come close to gauge, I had to crochet an extra round and worked to 54 sts. It’s still too small, but isn’t firm enough to go any bigger without it being floppy. I may try 3 strands, or I may just use the remaining yarn for nesting baskets.

FINAL MEASUREMENTS:
2 strands, floppy
Used 1.71 oz / 62 yards of yarn
7” across
Est. $2.53 cost for each if made as described above.

This yarn is 36.26 yards/oz

10/27/24 see other project here
4 strand trivet: 115.31 yards, 3.18oz, 8” diameter
Two 3 strand coasters: 65.268 yards, 1.8 oz, 4” diameter

10/28/24 COST FOR EACH SIZE
Boy, I used to be good at math. I don’t know why my brain can’t hold onto the calculations for yards/oz and $/yard.

2 strand trivet, 7” diameter, floppy = $2.53/ea
4 strand trivet, 8” diameter, firm = $4.71/ea
3 strand coasters (2), 4” diameter, firm = $2.67/2
