I was totally inspired by Mary’s (Calumet Knits) sporty-looking ear warmers, and used what I’ve learned from her about tension and finishing tubes to make these. Mary’s work is THE BEST, and she’s such a great teacher. I could watch her YouTube Channel all day.

FINISH: I finished/will finish all with Mary’s method of using the kitchener stitch to hide the ugly join on the inside. Not surprisingly, they look so much more professional.

While I’m not a sports fan, the locals are very supportive fans of the BSU Broncos. I’m hoping these will sell at my market in November.

Two more cranked this morning. On the first one and all the previous ones, I started with the solid section. One the second, I thought I’d get the hard part out of the way first so I started with the stripes. I might prefer it that way (stripes first).

I’m playing/adjusting the counts on the sections and stripes to see what I like best.

In determining the right colors, I made one with Desert Glaze (ILTY), but when I asked a BSU alumni, he said the BTV orange is the right color. I also made one with some Heartland yarn, but the colors were all wrong (Yosemite is too brown vs. the orange I was going for). I’ll just put that one with my regular ear warmers rather than the BSU ones.
