After seeing posts on Facebook and them meeting Summer Cromartie (who went viral) at one of Michael Sellick’s (The crochet crowd) meet-ups, I decided to go through my yarn stash and give it a try. It took several attempts with different yarns before I got it right. Wider than I am used to, but it works well under a jacket. (looks like a shawl collar).

I chained 44, then for row 1, I : (sc, ch 1, skip 1) across. I ended with 2 sc. For Row 2 and onward; Ch 1, sc in first sc, then (ch 1, sc in ch-space) across. Ending with sc in last sc.

I had to rip out a row or 2 here and there and loosen my gauge when it began to stripe vertically.
