I don’t want the recipient to find out, but I need a way to track my progress! Here goes one of the craziest ideas I’ve had in my life.
UPDATE: This was intended to be finished for a baby shower given for a friend of mine. The shower has now come and gone, so I’ve linked the correct pattern now.
The project: Blanket consisting of 152 stitches, final measurements approx. 35” x 46”. That means… I’ve got about 44 more inches to knit. (Oh, and it’s almost the end of the semester, which means I’ve got term papers and projects to work on, too. Thanksgiving break will have a few days devoted to nothing but knitting, apparently.)
Deadline: Early December. Before finals are over. Boom.
Progress:
11.13.2011 Swatched, cast on, began and finished border.
11.15.2011 Done with first pattern repeat! (Total time: approx. 5 hours over 3 days) Approx. 2” of total blanket length knit.
11.20.2011 5 inches completed. Pretty good, considering I had to rip out about 3 rows because of my silly cabling errors (blargh). I’m on “break” from classes this coming week, so my goal is to get somewhere between 1/3 and 1/2 of the blanket completed!
11.30.2011 Well, I met my goal of 1/3 complete by the end of Thanksgiving weekend. Spent all of Thanksgiving Day knitting, unless I was eating. :P Not sure if it’ll be done in time, but for sure over Christmas Break.
12.16.2011 So, I’ve had to take a bit of a break from this. The “official” deadline has come and gone… but finals got in the way. It’s still plugging along, and I’ll for sure have it completed by February, when it’s really “due.”
1.3.2012 Officially half way there!!!
2.9.2012 IT’S FINISHED!!!!! ENDS WOVEN IN AND EVERYTHING! Just need to block it out and then it’ll be shipped off to my friend! :) She’s due this weekend, so right on time!
