Learn how to estimate how much yarn you need when you can’t determine it from the vintage pattern.

Note: although the specs call for 6-1/2 st. per inch, I knit the sleeve in one day!!

I used a provisional cast on with a cable instead of scrap yarn. In just two weeks I knit one sleeve, the back (sans the ribbing, which I’ll come back to) and the front (also minus the ribbing) up to one shoulder. The other shoulder won’t take long -- perhaps a day.

For something vintage, it’s going along at a rapid clip. The fabric is very drapey and breezy, just what I was hoping for, for those hot days of climate change. I used wooden needles for this project since the yarn is quite slick.
