I was never so meticulous at matching each part and making sure edges were crisp. Maybe I’m being extra careful because it’s white, or maybe because the lines are precise. This is a bit of a jigsaw puzzle with the collar having multiple components. At first I knit the striped portion (with the tab that wraps around ) as the mirror image of what it should be. There’s a bit of confusion about right side, since the first parts knit use reverse stockinette as right side. I have a top-stitching ridge which I can’t notice in the model.

Blocked collar 3-dimensionally, not flat. Now I know how Charles James felt. This drapes a 3-D body, not a Flat Stanley. There are different sections: the part attached to the triangular striped piece, the left front and the right front (which both have tabs that wrap part-way around the neck). Then the triangular piece wraps all the way around to the underneath.

A bit of tacking. I plan to use white thread, not yarn, because there are multiple layers. I placed straight pins all the way across a single row of stitches and basted the left (underneath) front to the right front, trying to keep it in a straight line.

I don’t have buttons in mind yet.
