As seen at the beginning of Show and Tell podcast.

Merged 2 patterns since Log Cabin pattern no longer available. Used one for basic idea of crazy stripe / log cabin motif and another for vertical, knit sideways stripe.
I started with 4- 11” squares to give 44” around hips.
The front and back 4” wide panels were knit in garter st from center body out toward sleeve and joined into one long piece, which I continued to knit flat until shoulder. Sleeve was then knit in the round, alternating row of knit, row of purl to give same look as garter. Carry yarn over at the junction to make stripes line up . I added triangular panel with short rows to expand front and back to meet width of log cabin square.
Interesting construction…fronts are rectangle with extended trapezoid shaped panel that becomes collar and back connects onto it with panel overlapping. (Hard to explain)

Entire jacket is split down center….assembled up the back.
